The Hobbit to be split into TWO movies?

The upcoming 20th birthday of Empire Magazine has been guest edited by none other than Steven Spielberg. By the power of his magical directing beard, he appears to have secured some rather nifty exclusives for the mag, and now they’re starting to flood out.Quite impressively, they’ve got the scoop on Peter Jackson and Guillermo Del Toro’s revised plans for The Hobbit. Previously we’d been told that they were going to make two films, the first an adaptation the novel and the second to bridge the gap between that book and The Fellowship of the Ring. Now, however, it seems that The Hobbit itself is going to take up two full length pictures all by itself.Empire quote each of the Hobbitmasters. Here’s Del Toro:We’ve decided to have The Hobbit span the two movies, including the White Council and the comings and goings of Gandalf to Dol Guldur. And Jackson:We decided it would be a mistake to try to cram everything into one movie. The essential brief was to do The Hobbit, and it allows us to make The Hobbit in a little more style, if you like, of the trilogy. There was a rumor recently that Del Toro would have a whole trilogy to play with, not two films but Jackson’s comment here about ‘the essential brief’, stepping down from the original plan and suggesting this new idea was how they’d be fulfilling their obligation, leaves me with the impression that the bridge narrative has been ditched altogether.I’m assuming this spells the end of fan dreams to see Viggo Mortenson’s Aragorn in action again. Here’s hoping Jackson is just keeping a potential third film under his hat and the old rumours were based on something solid. The special issue of Empire magazine hits UK shelves on the 23rd, and promises much more on The Hobbit, not to mention Tintin and lord knows what else Spielberg has won them access to.

Madonna trying to reclaim her youth

It's a new day, a bright side appears

If you read my previous post, actually two posts ago, you'd know my rant about the internship. At first I thought it kind of screwed around with my graduation date because I was planning on fininshing my undergraduate studies this upcoming fall and I thought that since I didn't end up applying for the internship I would have to take an extra class this fall. This would mean that I would have to take 4 in the fall and 3 in the spring. Now that I know I'm NOT going to be doing the internship I think it's best if I take two classes that are cake this SSI & II and end up with 5 classes for the Fall.

We'll see how that goes. Maybe I'll end up finishing this fall afer all.

The Jolie Backlash

PISSED I Am

Okay, I need to take a breather because I am, as the title says, PISSED!

*breathe*

Okay, so my place of employment was offering a Management Intership and if I got selected this internship would have counted as a Advanced Business Elective and I could have been done with my classes by this upcoming fall. That would have been too perfect right? Add to the fact that I would have also been paid 13 bucks an hour (4 dollars more than right now) AND it would have looked nice on my resume.

Why so blue? Or in this case red? >:^(

The administrative assistant at my store, Becky Espinoza (yeah, I'm calling you out woman!) was notified of my intention since December! She said she would keep a look out for this and notifiy me when she got details about it. Now, I looked into it myself and I met ALL the requirements plus I work at the store which would also be good if I ever wanted to go to San Antonio to work at their corporate offices as a starting point. Well now it's March and I knew that the year before the deadline was around April and I still hadn't received anything from Becky so I decided to call Human Resources and the lady told me that they had moved the deadline to February! I was like "Quuuuuueeeee?" and I told her that Becky did not say anything to me and she replied with obvious disappointment in that woman. I called Becky to bitch at her. She answered and when I told her that I missed the deadline and that she never said anything to me she stayed quiet and said "I'm sorry, I forgot about it." Now dont' get me wrong, I didn't just tell her in December and expect her to remember all this time. I reminded her constantly. She said she didn't receive an email but felt bad that she didn't contact HR. So I hung up on her mid-sentence.

Back to the HR lady, she said I could apply next year. :( Now I'm not going to take 7 classes during the Fall semester and risk dropping a class. I'll just split the classes and take 4 fall and 3 Spring.

Why me? Cuz Stone Cold said so.....*gasp* a hottie just walked in...bye!

Bringing the LOL'z

So what brings out actual LOL's in chats? I've always thought (not always but when I first realized what messenger was and it's little codes that come with) that internet slang is tricky when communicating with foreign friends. Of course, I don't have any foreign friends with the exception of those I've met online. Everyone gets "lol" but do they actually do it? There's different ways of expressing how serious you are at "lol-ing" like the simple "lol" (which is in my opinion more like a chuckle) and then there's the serious "haha" or "jaja" in Spanish. It's more of a sarcastic "lol" and I don't enjoy those as much. Then there's the lmao which you know what it means and if you don't then look it up in wikipedia. I traditionally use L.M.A.O. or L! M! A! O! to show how seriously funny something was. Of course some will think "Get a hold of youself it isn't THAT funny!" Then there's those that go the extra mile and type ROTFLMMFAO, which stands for "Really On The Floor Laughing My MotherFucking Ass Off!" These people need to be shot.

What was the point of this post you say? To get you to LOL of course! And if you didn't then a simple "Haha" will do.

World War Z movie news

I saw this a while back on wiki but decided to post it here for those that care...a.k.a. my two readers...(including myself):

A film adaptation is in development, following a bidding war between Brad Pitt and Leonardo Di Caprio's production companies, with the rights being obtained by Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment and the screenplay being written by Babylon 5 and Rising Stars creator J. Michael Straczynski.[24] In an interview Straczynski said it was a challenge to create a main character out of a book that reads as a UN Report on the zombie wars, but he says his solution was create the guy who wrote that report and follow his process.[25] Marc Forster signed on to direct on November 13, 2008. The director described the film as reminiscent of 1970s conspiracy thrillers like All the President's Men.[26] Straczynski, however, says the movie is more like The Bourne Identity and commented that the film will have a large international scope while keeping the film as political as the book was. Straczynski also said that they hope to begin production by the start of 2009. [27]
When asked if he would have anything to do with the movie, Brooks stated that he had "zero control", but admitted that he would love to see Brad Pitt have a role in the movie[1] and thought Straczynski was a great choice to write the script.[28][29] In an interview with Fangoria, Brooks said, "I can’t give it away, but Straczynski found a way to tie it all together. The last draft I read was amazing."[30]
