Star Jones files for divorce

"Entertainment Tonight" breaks news that Star Jones, 46, has filed for divorce from husband of three-and-a-half years Al Reynolds, 39. The filing took place on March 26 in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan. Starlet M. Jones versus Al S. Reynolds was marked as an "Uncontested Matrimonial" case by the court and the records were sealed.
In a statement released exclusively to "Entertainment Tonight," the former "View" co-host says: "Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone's life that requires privacy with one's thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman."
Yesterday, New York divorce attorney Stanford Lotwin (who worked on the high profile divorces of Howard Stern, Donald Trump and Diana Ross, among others) filed a notice of appearance with the courts. Upon learning of the filing, "Entertainment Tonight" producers discovered the original divorce decree.
Jones married Al Reynolds at Saint Bartholomew's Church in New York City on November 13, 2004. The wedding was an extravagant affair with 500 hundred guests, three matrons of honors, 12 bridesmaids and four flower girls. The lavish nuptials came under scrutiny when Star discussed her wedding's sponsors at length on her ABC show.
Star Jones was born Starlet Marie Jones in Badin, North Carolina. Actress Bea Arthur (pictured above), who played Dorothy Zbornak in The Golden Girls and Maude Findlay in Maude, is the sole actress getting her due this year. Since The Golden Girls went off the air, Arthur has reduced her workload, guest starring in a few shows such as Malcolm in the Middle and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

When I Grow Up...

I've seen several movies where the location of the movie makes me want to live in that area of the country (or world). When I first saw the movie Insomnia I felt this unexplained love towards the Alaskan landscape and when I saw the movie Brokeback Mountain and An Unfinished Life I loved the idea of living in a really small town or even a ranch. I haven't seen a movie where the main location is a lighthouse, or anywhere near one (not that I can recall) but for the longest time I've imagined myself living in a house attached to a lighthouse. I'd run it and be at peace. I dunno, maybe it's something I'd like when I 'grow up'. Or, something I'd have when I retire. The picture above captures the beauty of the isolation I'd love to have. I think that's what of these locations have in common. I'm far away from the city noise and close to actual nature. I'd love it if this were my future but who knows what the future holds. I might change my mind.

Mariah breaks records as she ties Elvis Presly for #1 singles. She's only a couple of #1 hits away from surpassing The Beatles before she claims the top spot. This is somewhat bittersweet for me. I'm glad that a woman (or a DIVA!) is on the top spot but I hate that her most recent music ALL sounds the same. Blech....
