HOBBIT NEWS!!!!

Guillermo Del Toro and Peter Jackson had a webchat with fans about the upcoming films. Here are the main points of the chat:

• Howard Shore will be return as the musical composer
• It will most likely be shot exclusively in New Zealand
• Ian Holm will most likely not portray Bilbo Baggins (too old for The Hobbit)
• Guillermo talks about incorporating his own techniques and not going all 'gore-y' but keeping it real exciting
• Hobbiton (or the Shire...?) will be bigger and better than what we saw in LOTR
• Most of the 'gaps' where Gandalf won't be seen in the Hobbit will be used for the second film
• Ian McKellan will reprise his role as Gandalf (YAY!)
• Films will probably be released in 2011 and 2012 :(
• Rating will be PG-13 (Just like LOTR)
• The movies will be darker than the books.
• Movies will be shot back-to-back
• Andy Serkis will be involved in the film as Gollum or Smeagal
• All actors that appeared in LOTR and have a role in the Hobbit will not be recasted
